The Ashram

The Ashram

Located in Valliyoor, at the foothills of Sri Pothai, the Ashram of the mission houses divine deities, including the Moolavar - Sri Muthukrishna Swami. Surrounded by greenery, the Ashram provides a serene and peaceful environment with two main mandapams: the MahaMeru Mandapam (housing the MahaMeru and the Moolavar Swami) and the Manideeepam (housing five deities: Muthu Lingeshwarar, Vithaga Kamakshi, Annapoorani Devi, Subrahmanyar and Anjaneyar). The Ashram is open for darshan to all devotees from 9:30am - 12:00pm and 4:00pm - 5:30pm.

Regular monthly events

Every Friday collective prayers are conducted, actively attended by hundreds of people, especially women from surrounding villages. Girivalam around the sacred Pothai hill occurs every Poornima (full moon day) and involves thousands of devotees in the early morning hours. In the evenings during Poornima, Thiruvilakku Poojai takes place where hundreds of devotees participate. All arrangements including distribution of prasadam are provided free by the Mission.

Annual events

Sharadha Navaratri is celebrated with devotion, honouring the Divine Feminine through abhishegam, aaradhana, Golu padi worship and cultural offerings. The Guru Pooja festival is a ten-day celebration in the sacred month of Karthigai, culminating in Swamiji's Jayanthi and the lighting of the Karthigai deepam on top of Pothai hill. Ther thiruvizha is held a day before Guru Pooja when the Uthsava moorthy is taken around Pothai hill in a grand chariot.

Our mission

Upliftment of all beings by nourishing their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being without asking for or expecting anything in return is the guiding principle of the Mission at the Ashram.
